York Lodge 236 is the oldest surviving Freemasons Lodge in York having received its warrant in 1777. After many moves from its original site it moved to its present Grade II premises in Duncombe Place in 1863. Our guide will tell us about the history of the building and about Freemasonry in general whilst touring the interior rooms and library. The visit is expected to last about an hour and a half. Places will be allocated in order of receipt of application.
