Event Information

Let’s talk drugs.  A debate on how we choose, produce and use our pharmaceuticals.

All of us at some point will rely on drugs to maintain our health, and maybe even to save our lives. They are such a part of our modern world that it is hard to imagine it without them.

But what is the environmental impact of producing this vast amount of chemicals? And how do we ensure we keep producing the drugs we really need? Once we have them are we responsible with the way we use our precious pharmaceuticals?

Researchers at the University at York, working on areas ranging from the use of solvents in pharmaceuticals to the problem of antibiotic resistance, will be discussing these issues and trying to connect the publics concerns with the realities in research.

Please come along and join the debate on the lifecycle of our pharmaceuticals.
