Perfectionism in an Imperfect World

What is perfectionism and how common is it?
How helpful or hindering is being a perfectionist?
What are its likely consequences?

We will be answering these questions and more as part of our talk.

Specifically, we will explore the nature of perfectionism, the debate surrounding its influence on performance and wellbeing in achievement contexts, and discuss research which is at the forefront of this field.

Please come and join us at Café Scientifique as we discuss the perks and perils of perfectonism.

If you spotted the spelling mistake in the sentence above, you should definitely come along!

Our research group, Motivation, Performance and Wellbeing (MPaW), is housed within the School of Sport at York St John University. We are especially interested in the influence of perfectionism and how it might promote or undermine performance and wellbeing in sport, dance, and exercise.
