A Landscape History of North East Yorkshire
Dr Laura Eddey

Ryedale in North East Yorkshire encompasses one of the most unique landscapes in Britain. Mapping by early geologists in this area directed early earth scientists away from theology and towards more modern geological theory. This talk will examine how those ideas were shaped and by whom, and how these ideas and observations are used in the context of modern research.

Dr Laura Eddey has a PhD in Quaternary geology from the University of Sheffield. She currently works as an assistant planner at Ryedale District Council and as an independent researcher researching the interaction between geology, geomorphology, and landscape change in North East Yorkshire.

Doors open 7pm. Tickets are free and can be pre-booked in person at City Screen.

Alternatively tickets are available on the night of the event at the City Screen Ticket Desk –- limited to 70 for this event.
