11.40 – 12.00 The Harrogate wells case of 1837 and a gathering of the scientific elite. John Mather

12.00 – 12.20 Scripture and Science: The Dean of York’s critique of Buckland and Sedgwick’s riposte. Margaret Leonard

12.20 – 12.40 John Phillips and the first chromolithograph geological map in Britain. John Henry
