Friday 8 – Saturday 16 July
YORK EARLY MUSIC FESTIVAL 2022

Guest artists include:

The Sixteen | The Tallis Scholars | Gabrieli Consort & Players| Paolo Pandolfo & Amelie Chemin | International Young Artists Competition

The York Early Music Festival was established in 1977 and is designed to celebrate York’s myriad medieval churches, guildhalls and historic houses through historically informed music making of the highest international standard. The Festival is the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the NCEM’s annual programme and enjoyed by visitors from across the world.

The 2022 festival opens with the acclaimed viol specialists Paolo Pandolfo and Amelie Chemin making a welcome return to York, and will close with the International Young Artists Competition featuring young, emerging professional groups from across Europe.

Concerts are supported by a series of illustrated talks, workshops, opportunities to ‘come & sing’ and informal recitals and are presented in a range of historically appropriate venues across the City including York Minster, the Merchant Adventurers Hall, St Lawrence’s Church and the NCEM which is itself based in the medieval church of St Margaret.

If you are not able to join us in person this year, we are pleased to advise that we will be offering many of the concerts online across the summer. Full details will be available from www.ncem.co.uk/earlymusiconline
