Bear and the Band

Coming to the Tempest Anderson Hall, York, on 24th October, 7pm, a celebration of friendship, courage and kindness, and of course Bear!  The Famous Bear is back in the Museum Gardens, standing up to danger and the Horrid Important People and triumphing in the end.

The evening combines story telling, animated film, and live music. The story of Bear and the Angel, written and narrated by Martin Watts, animated film from the award winning creative designer and film Maker Andy Burns and live music from Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band. It all comes together in the exciting nail biting adventure.  There really was a Bear in the York Museum Gardens and it was sent to London in 1831 sitting on top of a stagecoach! We find out how she eventually got back to York. There were Horrid Important People who wanted everything for themselves. Bear, Beaver and Tansy Beetle join up to thwart the Important People and despite some really dangerous moments win out in the end!
