Humphry Repton Bicentenary

March 2018 marks the bicentenary of the death of Humphry Repton, the last great landscape designer of the eighteenth century. The Gardens Trust is coordinating events around the country to celebrate his life and work, throughout 2018.

Yorkshire Gardens Trust will be jointly holding a lecture with YPS on Tuesday 8 May “Humphry Repton, landscape gardener (1752-1818) and his Yorkshire commissions”. Because of its anticipated popularity, this will be a ticketed event, free to YPS members, with an allocation of tickets for both organisations.

Dr Patrick Eyres, the guest speaker, and his co author Karen Lynch will also be celebrating the publication of their book on Repton in Yorkshire. Copies will be available to purchase before and after the lecture.
