Welcome to the YPS blog
Welcome to the YPS Blog
The YPS blog brings you an informal note of recent activity and developments from YPS members, including groups, projects and the work of Council Members. We intend this to be a complement to the newsletter, the annual report and the website resources.
We also want to share, and highlight, some of the ongoing work of YPS volunteers involved in planning activities, publications and projects. This is also a forum for guest blogs from members and guests about YPS activities.
YPS works in partnership with many other organisations and we will highlight some of these developments and some future possibilities. Just to give one example a council member is at present exploring the possibilities across Yorkshire for an extension series to our lecture programme. We currently offer an extension lecture once a year in Easingwold; but are interested in any other suggestions of towns and venues that might like to be a partner with us.
Thanks to all the members who provided delicious refreshments for the Christmas social event, after David Winpennys excellent lecture on Sir Gilbert Scott and the Restoration of Ripon Cathedral. The accompanying photograph, courtesy of Pat Williamson, demonstrates this was a lively and well-supported event.
Do let me know your suggestions and ideas via the YPS office or email.
