Private transport to Betton Farm Café and activity centre, NE of East Ayton. YO13 9HT. Meet 10.15
We share cars for transfer to Burniston. (Parking for 3 or 4 vehicles only). Many steps down to the beach.
We will examine the variable Middle Jurassic deltaic stratigraphy and look for fossil plants, dinosaur trackways and dinoturbation. Return to Betton Farm for late lunch. (Bakery available and recommended).
The rocks exposed at Betton Farm Quarry are younger than those at Burniston. The Upper Jurassic coral reefs are in a marine environment with corals, bivalves and gastropods.
