Visit to Yorkshire Lavender

Event Information

 Yorkshire Lavender

Car share travel Cost  £8.50 to include a cream tea, short talk and gratuities

The 60 acre south facing site includes an award-winning garden which demonstrates the wide colour range of lavender flowers, a lavender maze, a sculpture park, and a specialist plant nursery which propagates and sells unusual perennials, grasses and wild flowers as well as lavender plants.  The view over the Howardian Hills is spectacular. The site is on a hill but there is plenty to see by level walking.

On arrival at 2pm we will be given an introductory talk, outside if the weather is kind to us, alternatively under cover.  We will then be free to explore the gardens, the gift shop, and the plant sale area, until 4pm when we will gather in the waitress service Tea Room for a Cream Tea with a lavender scone – tables will be held for the group.

Travel will be in members cars; please indicate whether you require a lift, or how many passengers you can take, with your address so that the best allocation of passengers can be made.  Terrington Lavender can be reached from the A64 at the turn-off for Welburn/Castle Howard, follow the brown tourist signs.

Passengers given lifts may wish to consider a voluntary contribution in the region of  £3 to the driver to cover fuel costs.
