York Earth Walk
Wednesday 3rd November from 10am to 12.30pm

Dr Liam Herringshaw will lead this earth walk around the centre of York:

10am – part 1. Meet at Micklegate Bar to discuss the geological origins of York. Meander down Micklegate to the Ouse, finding out why York is the birthplace of palaeontology, how we can use a river to cross a river, and what York’s oldest building really is, before grabbing a cuppa on Coney Street at 11am.

11.30 – part 2. Starting beneath the giant clock of St Martin’s, Coney Street, we’ll meet the microscopic Lister sisters, the marvellous Mrs Sladen, and the Minster masons, before heading erratically round to Museum Gardens, where we will finish at the Pebble Mosaic at 12.30.

PLACES ARE LIMITED TO 15 -20 participants – we will confirm your place so please only join us on the day if you have received a confirmation by email or post.
