Event Information

Dr Liam Herringshaw and Dr Simon Rogerson will lead this walk around the centre of York:

10.30am – Meet at the YPS Lodge, Museum Gardens. We’ll start by dipping our toes into the Yorkshire Museum’s Jurassic seas, before dissolving through the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey and promenading along the River Ouse, looking for steam-powered towers, confused unicorns, and Viking recorders.

12pm – After pausing for liquid refreshment at 11.30, we’ll gather again at Noon on the Ouse Bridge. We’ll then meander down the King’s Staith to Tower Gardens, and round into the Castle Mills to navigate the Foss. Having discovered who the patron saint of hydrophobia is, we will finish our voyage at the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall at 1pm.

PLACES ARE LIMITED TO 15 -20 participants – we will confirm your place so please only join us on the day if you have received a confirmation by email or post.
