YPS Local History Workshop- Trailblazers’ Project Follow up

As part of this project we are hosting a Community Workshop for anyone interested in sharing their memories of York, including the York Mystery Plays, the peacocks, school visits and other events or stories that make up our rich history. A lot of research has been undertaken using both the YPS archives at the Borthwick and the City Archives and the British Newspaper Archive but there is more to discover in time for the Yorkshire Museum’s bicentenary in 2030.

However, research topics are not limited to the Museum, York or even Yorkshire. Our aim is to develop our research skills and knowledge in a friendly and encouraging environ-ment, assisted by plenty of tea and cake. Anyone who is interested in local history is welcome to join us and suggest their own research topics.

Any leaflets or documents that you have will also be useful to share and possibly copy for the archives.
