Scarborough Archaeological and Historical Society 75th Anniversary Launch Lecture
Professor Nicky Milner will give this talk on the research at “Star Carr” on Wednesday 22nd June in Scarborough.
Nicky Milner is a Professor of Archaeology at the University of York and specialises in the Mesolithic period, focusing on wetland archaeology and coastal shell middens. She grew up only a few miles away from the Mesolithic site of Star Carr but it was only when she went to University that she learnt about the site. From 2004-2015 she co-directed excavations at the site and the results of these are currently being published.
