Volunteer with the Yorkshire Gardens Trust

This is a chance for YPS members to volunteer with the Yorkshire Gardens Trust and contribute to a new research & recording project.

This is the second stage (after the East Riding) of a long-term project by the YGT to research and record locally significant, historic, designed landscapes in Yorkshire, to create a database to be available to and referenced by interested amateurs, academics and professionals, and to aid conservation.

The information will be publicly, freely available on the Parks & Gardens UK database, the Historic Environment Record and the YGT website.

The Selby District was chosen because it encompasses a wide range of varied landscape character types. There are considerable threats to these areas from intensification of arable cultivation, flood defence improvements and quarrying.
