York Festival of Ideas 2020

The 2020 Festival of Ideas is online this year with a special collection of events: going live from Tuesday 2nd June to Sunday 14th June.

Festival events cover science, technology, archaeology, social sciences, philosophy, history, art, poetry, literature and dance.

Speakers include on June 11th Jim Al-Khalili on “The World according to Physics” and on June 10th Adam Hart, biologist and broadcaster, discussing the theme of his book “Unfit for Purpose. When human evolution collides with the Modern World”.

The talks can be participated in live via online booking. Some of the events are available live on Zoom others on YouTube and links and reminders will be sent to participants who book for them.

There will be a “Watch Again” section of the FOI website which will take you to the Festival’s YouTube channel. This will enable you to catch up an any events you miss.
