Geologists’ Association Annual Conference. Tempest Anderson Hall, Yorkshire Museum

Saturday 26th September 2026 10.15am 

The Geologists’ Association Annual Conference will be held in York this year. Saturday will be a day of talks highlighting the diversity of Yorkshire geology. The Yorkshire Geological Society is about to publish a thorough revision of its book of geological expositions and excursions: ‘Yorkshire Rocks and Landscapes’. Several contributors to this new edition will be speaking.

There is a fee for the day, but the GA is generously waiving this fee for YPS members, who can simply turn up on the day and enter for free on production of membership cards.

GA have agreed that non-members may now book the Sunday Field Trips. There is no fee to attend.
There are four trips.

1. Building Stones of York City. (In York)
2. York’s Volcanic Trail. (In York)
3. In the footsteps of dinosaurs. Burniston, near Scarborough
4. Microfacies of a coral reef. Betton Farm, near East Ayton
