Event Information

“Uncovering the Yorkshire Jurassic” Field Meetings on Sunday 20th May

A choice of three outdoor meetings, each one designed for a different level of geological experience. Online booking or through the YPS office. Limited places available.

Risk assessments will be shared with all participants but please note you undertake these activities at your own risk.

1. Deepgrove Wyke to Keldhowe Steel (Between Whitby and Kettleness) led by Tim Burnhill of the Rotunda Geology Group and Yorkshire Geological Society. Advanced: For those with more Geological Experience
Stout footwear and own hard hat essential.

2. “Changing times, changing environments” (Burniston Wyke and Bretton Farm Quarry) led by Paul Hildreth, Yorkshire Geological Society. Intermediate: designed for the interested amateur and young geologist (KS2 to 4) Please note under 16’s must be supervised by an adult.

3. “Tracking Scarborough’s Dinosaurs” with Will Watts of Hidden Horizons (Scarborough) from 1pm to 4pm. Beginners: including children from 5 years of age upwards
(KS1-2). Please note: an adult must accompany children under 16.
