York’s First Photographs Exhibition now open
The Calotype Trail in Museum Gardens and Library Lawn is now complete. Two panels, one on the YPS Lodge, and one outside York Explore, give background information, while the remaining twelve panels show early photographs, called calotypes, taken at or around the British Association for the Advancement of Science Conference in York in 1844.
Each panel includes a map, which will help you navigate from one panel to the nex t, but if you would like your own map to carry with you, and a little information about the people shown, download and print the pdf:- Calotype Trail
